Adrien, welder at Goubard
This is the week of employment for disabled workers. We wanted to share with you the beautiful story of Adrien, 26 years old, who will sign his permanent contract at Goubard on December 1st!
STARTING OUT IN THE WORLD OF WORK
After a specialised school course, at the age of 19, Adrien received support from the SESSAD in order to find his professional path in the world of work. It was his integration officer who suggested that he discover the ISTA49 and the Entreprise Adaptée des Banchais based in Saint Barthélémy d'ANJOU (49).
« ...15 days later, his integration officer called me back: Adrien wanted to do a 15-day trial at ISTA49 in the metal workshop. I met him a few days after he started in the workshop and asked him if he liked this job. He replied that it was lousy! I tell him that when you commit yourself it is important to go through with the 15-day training agreement!». Adrien is a determined person, he hangs in there and starts to learn the welding trade.
Little by little, he develops superb dexterity and takes more and more pleasure in his job as a welder.
Following his internship in 2014, he started a fixed-term contract and then signed his permanent contract at ISTA49. Although he has very good skills, Adrien needs to gain autonomy, maturity and master the codes of the company before being recruited in the traditional mainstream environment: he must continue to train as a welder, become more autonomous by obtaining his driving licence and stabilise his personal life. For almost 7 years, Catherine Robineau and her teams have been supporting him in his personal and professional development so that he can be ready to enter the world of work in the mainstream environment.
THE DESIRE TO WORK AT GOUBARD
Adrien was used to working on our Goubard products, some of whose sub-assemblies are subcontracted to ISTA49. He was hoping to be hired by us because he was close to his home and because he was familiar with our manufacturing methods.
"Recruiting Adrien was one of the first decisions we made when we took over Goubard," recalls Pascal Jousselin, HR manager and one of Goubard's four partners.
"I am very sensitive to these subjects and so is Jérémie Bourdillon. For us, it was an obvious choice and we had already been able to appreciate the quality of his work. Over-motivated by the announcement of his recruitment at Goubard, Adrien even sent us his CV when it was not yet finalised! « Catherine was slow to give me news, I was tired of waiting! » remembers Adrien.
It is finally in June 2021 that Adrien begins his contract of provision in our company, in Seiches-sur-le-Loir. "We took the time we needed. The aim of this operation is to make sure that Adrien feels good at Goubard and that he keeps his balance" explains Catherine Robineau.
In the workshop, Adrien is already the unanimous choice. "He's got a great touch," says Romuald, his Goubard team leader.
« He is willing, rigorous and determined. Three qualities that make him an excellent and experienced welder. He was a bit shy at the beginning, but today he is perfectly integrated. The signing of his contract on 1 December will only be a formality.
We cultivate the intelligence of the Goubard company through diversity. Today two other disabled employees work in our workshop on permanent contracts and a fourth will join us in January, also trained at ISTA49.
Welcome to Goubard Adrien!
